Given the substantial opportunity costs, storage costs, and energy costs incurred at a national level due to "dark data," which encompasses data that remains uncollected, unindexed, or unanalyzed, the research center aims to address national dark data issues by researching and developing next-generation information platform foundational technologies that can maximize the utilization of dark data throughout its collection, storage, management, and processing stages.
