DGIST Core Protein Resources Center signs a Joint R&D MOU with the Medical Science Technology Research Institute at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine
- To promote joint R&D of new medicines and train specialists together
- Held a joint symposium to share the latest research findings

DGIST announced that DGIST Core Protein Resources Center (Director Iksoo Jang) signed an agreement for joint R&D and exchange with the Medical Science Technology Research Institute at the University of Ulsan College of Medicine on November 8.

Through this agreement, both institutions will cooperate in the production of medical proteins and high-level analysis, structural design, R&D of candidate proteins for new medicines, and training professionals.

A joint symposium followed this R&D agreement attended by 16 experts representing both institutions to share the latest research findings. They covered various topics ranging from atomic-unit protein analysis technology to the clinical application of genetic treatment and cell treatment proteins.

From DGIST, Director Iksoo Jang, Senior researcher Woon-beom Kang, and Researcher Ae-ri Lee delivered presentations on the ‘Functions of pH Switch Protein’ and ‘Technologies of Protein Mass Analysis and NMP Analysis.’

From the University of Ulsan College of Medicine, Dr. Hanseok Choi, Dr. Seokhee Oh, and Dr. Gyeongnam Oh gave presentations. As for guest speakers, Professor Young Yang (Sookmyung Women’s University) from the National Research Foundation of Korea and Dr. Kirang Park from Chungbuk Health & Science University delivered presentations on the ‘Application on Stem Cells and Liver Diseases of High-purity Refined Protein as Synthetic Antibody as well as Analysis on GMP Manufacturing and Quality Assessment.’

Director Iksoo Jang of DGIST Core Protein Resources Center said “We are confident that this R&D agreement will build the foundation for the clinical commercialization of basic protein research performances”
